City-County Health District would like to remind parents and caregivers to make sure their children are current on immunizations. Believe it or not, many pediatric and family practice clinics throughout the state are already booking wellness and physical activity appointments in the next few months. Scheduling an appointment now ensures that your child is ready for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.
Parents and caregivers can contact City-County Health District or their primary care provider to see if their student is up to date on required and recommended immunizations.
Most children will need the following immunizations by the first day of school:
Kindergarten (4-6 years of age)
Hepatitis B: three doses
Polio: four doses
DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis): five doses
MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella): two doses
Varicella (chickenpox): two doses
Seventh grade (11-12 years of age)
