-
People ages 5 years and older should get all primary series doses, and the booster dose recommended by the CDC, if eligible.
What booster doses are available?
-
People ages 5 years to 11 years are currently recommended to get the original (monovalent) booster.
-
People ages 12 years and older are recommended to get the updated Pfizer or Moderna (bivalent) booster.
-
This includes people who have received all primary series doses and people who previously received one or more original (monovalent) bosoters.
-
At this time, peopel aged 12 years to 17 years can only receive the updated Pfizer bivalent booster.
-
-
CCHD instructs individuals to receive an updated booster, regardless of the brand we have available. CCHD can not guarantee that a preferred vaccine brand will be available or in stock.
Why do I need the updated or bivalent COVID-19 booster?
The updated COVID-19 vaccine boosters include components of the original virus strain and the Omicron variant. This is called a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine.
The updated COVID-19 vaccine boosters are designed to give you broad protection against COVID-19, including better protection against the Omicron variant.
