    Health Tracks Maternal Child Health 701.845.8518 Health Tracks is a program through North Dakota Medicaid that focuses on prevention, early detection and treatment for children and young adults under 21. Preventive care is as important for your child's health. All children and teens need regular check-ups. Getting regular well-child check-ups helps children and teens stay healthy by: Finding health concerns before they become serious. Preventing illness by making sure children get the health care What services are provided? Health Tracks may cover : Physical exams Hearing and vision checks Glasses and hearing aids Vaccines (shots) and labs Dental care, braces, flouride varnish Health education Behavioral health screenings Growth and development checks Nutrition counseling Other health services The Health Tracks coordinator at City-County Health District will help schedule appointments for services. Some services require prior approval, so check with your coordinator about these requirements. When should my child have a Health Tracks screening? Children should get screenings at regular times, even when they are feeling well. Babies grow fast and need a lot of screenings: Newborn 2-5 days old 1 month 2 months 4 months 6 months 9 months 12 months Toddlers need exams at: 15 months 18 months 24 months 30 months After 30 months , children need exams at 3, 4, 5, 6 and then annually up to age 21.     Emergency Preparedness 701.252.8130 City-County Health District works with the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS), public safety agencies, and other community groups to plan and prepare for disasters or emergency situations. This is in conjunction with local all hazards emergency planning, preparedness, and response. City-County Health District is part of an eight-county region established by NDHHS for emergency preparedness and response planning. Counties included in our region are: Barnes , Dickey , Foster , LaMoure , Logan , McIntosh , Stutsman , and Wells. An emergency preparedness/response coordinator and a public information officer serve the eight counties within the Southeast Central Region. Their work is funded in part by federal grants and is focused on public health emergencies. This is done through public education and planning which involves partnerships for enhanced regional response plans and capabilities. Vaccines prevent disease in people who receive them and protect those who come in contact with unvaccinated people. Cost: Vaccinations can be billed though our partnering insurance companies. Children who are 18 and under, may qualify for free vaccine through the Vaccine for Children (VFC) program. They must meet one of the following criteria: No health insurance Medicaid eligible Native American or Alaskan Native Underinsured *Some adult vaccines are available through the 317 vaccine to adults uninsured or underinsured.
